What do I need to do to reserve my wedding date?
First, please contact me to confirm availability on your date and schedule a chat to see if we're a good fit. If I'm available and you're interested in booking, let me know! I'll send you a link to sign an agreement and submit a 50% non-refundable retainer (all online!). You can even pay by credit card, which allows you to gain points/miles for your honeymoon (if you use a travel rewards card).
What do you want for couples?
I'd love for couples to savor each moment of their wedding - every hug, every conversation, every sip of wine - while confident that they can bask in these experiences time again. And I'd like to enable this by unobtrusively photographing their day in an authentic, yet beautiful way.
What photography equipment do you use?
- EOS 5D mark ii cameras
- 17-40mm 4.0 L lens
- 24-70mm 2.8 L lens
- 70-200mm 2.8 L lens
- 85mm 1.2 L lens
- 50mm 1.4 lens
- 580 EX flashes
- ...and my most important lighting instrument: the sun :)
Suffice it to say, I use all Canon professional equipment.
Do you carry general liability insurance?
Yes - some venues won't let you work onsite without it!
How much wedding coverage do I need?
Typically, couples start coverage 1.5 hours prior to ceremony start. Coverage usually ends one hour after dancing begins.
Of what benefit is a second shooter during the wedding?
Three words: depth, moments, and focus. During your ceremony, speeches, and other fixed events, the second shooter will capture different perspectives from me. This adds depth and interest to your wedding story. During the rest of the day, the second shooter will be where I am not. This allows more special moments between guests or you and your guests to be captured. Lastly, having two relaxed photographers who are able to focus on their craft without having to rush from one location to another enables them to do their best work! However, rest assured that the artistic tone will be set and critical photos captured by me.
What information do you need from me?
- The name of a guest who can corral and identify friends & family during group portraits
- A list of group portraits
- The wedding timeline; we will use this to determine when to capture group and couple's portraits
- Any special requests
I will typically follow up for this information two months before the wedding and drive the entire process!
Do you capture portraits in addition to candid photographs during the wedding?
Yes. The assumption is that couple's and group portraits will be captured, unless you request otherwise. We will adjust the duration of these portrait sessions by balancing the number of portraits you request and the amount of time that you are willing to dedicate to portraits during your wedding day.
How are the wedding photographs edited?
- Photographs that are technically flawed, have closed eyes/unflattering expressions, or are redundant are removed.
- Each photograph is adjusted for exposure, contrast, sharpness and color (amongst other things).
- Photographs are exported in a resolution that allows you to make large prints (high-resolution jpegs). A small selection of photographs will be provided in black and white in addition to its color counterpart.
How will I receive my wedding photographs?
You will be e-mailed several download links. The links expire after two weeks, but can be generated at any time upon request (within a year of your wedding date).
What can I do with my wedding photographs?
Nearly anything you'd like! The only exception is using them for commercial purposes.
How long does the online wedding gallery remain live?
Your gallery will remain live for at least a year from your wedding date.
